It is the fifth strategic document on the Czech drug policy since 1993, the year when the first drug policy programme, for the period 1993 to 1996, was conceived. For the first time, the National Strategy is defined as a long-term strategic document spanning a period of nine years. This strategy is intended to serve the individual drug policy stakeholders as a guide showing the path which the Czech drug policy will follow in the next nine years and defining the background and principles which the Government finds efficient and meaningfull in tackling the problem of drug use.
